WEEK 5/14-5/18

MONDAY 5/14- Journals, Writing prompt for day: Think of all the inventions that have been created throughout history...car, phone, computer, light bulb....which invention do you think is most important and has benefitted your life thus far?  Be sure to give examples backing up your pick.  Writing prompt is due at the beginning of the period Tuesday. 

TUESDAY 5/15- Journal, writing prompt:  The principal is debating whether to change the gum chewing rule at school.  Write an essay why students should be able to chew gum on campus, and give reasons explaining why.  Writing prompt is due at the beginning of the period Wednesday.

WEDNESDAY 5/16- Journal, writing prompt: Imagine a genie came to visit you and would grant you any 3 wishes.  Please explain in detail those 3 wishes you would choose, and give reasons for each one. Writing prompt due at the beginning of the period Thursday.

THURSDAY 5/17- Journal, writing prompt: What animal do you believe to be the smatest?  Tell me why you think so, and provide some examples to back up your position.  Writing prompt is due at the beginning of the period on Friday.

FRIDAY 5/18 - Journal, writing prompt: Do you think that students should be required to take P.E. classes? Explain your answer, and give reasons to support your position.  Writing prompt will be due at the end of the period.

FRIDAY 5/11- Journals due, Writing prompt: If you were forced to move to a different country, where would you choose to live?  How would you learn to adapt to the new worlds' culture?  What would you do in that new country?  Minimum 3 paragraphs. 

THURSDAY 5/10- Journals, writing prompt:  What things can we do in our daily lives to make our world around us a better place?  Examples: help clean up the community, help others in need, help within our own families.....

WEDNESDAY 5/9- Journals, writing prompt: Imagine you are a crime scene investigator.  Describe a crime scene that you had to go to.  Make sure your story answers the who, what, when, where, why, and how. 

TUESDAY 5/8- Journals, writing prompt:  Imagine you are a crime scene investigator.  Describe a crime scene that you had to go to.  Make sure your story answers the following: who, what, when, where, why, and how......due at the beginning of class Wednesday. 

MONDAY- 5/7 Journals, writing prompt: How would life be different if you were a billionaire?  Give specific examples, minimum of 4 paragraphs.  Due at the beginning of the period Tuesday 5/8.

3/9-- Journals, turn in weekly journal.  Couplet terse verse due.  Quatrain poems.  Complete writing assignment for a quatrain.  Due at the end of the class period. 

3/8--- Journals, Alliteration poems due.  Couplet poems.  Write 5 terse verse couplets in class- if not finished at the end of the period, do the rest as homework.

3/7-- Journals, Diamante poems due.  Alliteration poems in class.  Write an alliteration sentence for each letter of the alphabet.  Due 3/8

3/6---Journals, Limerick Poems due.  Diamante poetry assignment.  Write 3 diamantes in class, if not finished during class, do for homework.

3/5--- Journals, assignments/tests for week
